Fenders for Surly
Taking a break from turning low end 70's Peugeots into fixies with quick releases and selling them on craigslist, we focused on making sense of these strange Japanese liquid vectoring devices for bicycle wheels.
Apparently they're called "fenders" in Japanese, and these are made by Honjo. Don't know what all the fuss was about, they practically installed themselves. These were for our good client, Leah, who knows how to roll into any bike project...with beer.

We rounded off the project with the installation of the Tubus Duo front low-rider rack. Taking advantage of Surly's well designed touring fork, the Duo gains stability by mounting to the inside and outside of the mid fork low-rider mounts. This eliminates the need for a stabilizer beam to loop over the wheel, which for a smaller wheeled bike would look silly.
Leah was a good sport and even participated in the bawdy jokes about "mounting her rack".
ha! give yourself some
ha! give yourself some credit. thanks for the fender installation, tucker the trucker is looking pretty damn sexy. no more drinking dirty street water!
